How does this BaZi calculator work?
- Enter birth data. A first name, birth date, birth hour (an estimate is fine), and the birth city chosen from the list.
- The engine computes. The date is mapped onto the Chinese solar calendar through astronomical solar-term (Jieqi) tables, then the hour is corrected to True Solar Time from the longitude of your city. No AI at this stage.
- The chart appears instantly. Four Pillars, Day Master, and element balance show on screen. The in-depth written reading is an optional paid step afterwards.
Why are the birth hour and city needed?
The birth hour sets the Hour Pillar, a quarter of your chart. Hour boundaries in BaZi do not follow the clock but the position of the sun, and that position shifts with the longitude of your city: six in the morning in Jayapura and in Medan is not the same sun. That is why the birth city is used for the True Solar Time correction.
If your birth hour is unknown, the chart can still be calculated with the Hour Pillar left empty. The other three pillars are enough to read the Day Master and the element balance.

What if I do not know my birth hour?
The chart can still be calculated with the Hour Pillar left empty. The Day Master and element balance are read from the other three pillars; only the parts that depend on the hour are not shown.
Is my birth data stored?
